GUIDES

All our guides are experienced, entertaining, curious, inventive, passionate, well-educated and knowledgeable. Also our guides are members of the Professional Tour Guide Association of Australia (PTGAA) and they maintain a Working with Children Check (if appropriate), first aid certificate and public liability insurance.

 

MEETING PLACE

Our tours start at different points across the city. Your meeting point will be clearly stated when the tour is confirmed and a reminder will be sent also before the tour.

 

WALKING TOURS

Melbourne is gloriously flat so walking is never onerous and the pace is always easy. Depending on the length of the tour there will be breaks. Please wear comfortable shoes and avoid heels. Do remember to come prepared for the weather; a hat and sunscreen in summer, a jacket in winter and wet-weather gear if rain threatens.

 

TRAMS

On some walking tours we will be jumping on and off Melbourne’s trams. The cost of the tram is always covered in the tour price.

 

LANGUAGE

Melbourne Ambassadors’ tours are usually delivered in English. Please contact us if you’d like a tour in another language and we’ll do everything possible to accommodate you but we cannot guarantee that we can meet language requests. 

 

BOOKING AND PAYMENT PROCEDURE

A 50% deposit is required at time of booking a tour with full payment due 7 days before departure. We accept payment by credit card (MasterCard or Visa only) or by Paypal. 

 

As all our tours are bespoke we will accommodate the single traveller, couples and groups. As a rule of thumb we like to limit our walking tours to 8 people. If there are more than 8 we could divide the group into smaller groups.

 

All agreed and outlined admission, catering and transport costs are included in the quoted final tour cost.

 

We are happy to split bills!

 

CHILDREN AND TOURS

Melbourne Ambassadors’ tours will be designed to reflect the ages of the group.  We ask parents to supervise children at all times and to be aware of others on the tour.

 

On walking tours, please give us 48 hours notice if you intend to use a pram or stroller as this can affect the route taken.

 

On vehicular tours it is mandatory by law that all children aged from birth to 4 years must travel in a rear-facing or forward-facing child restraint. Children aged between 4 and 7 years must travel in a forward-facing child restraint or a booster seat. Children aged between 7 and 16 years are required to use a booster seat or adult seat belt. 

 

The legal alcohol drinking age in Victoria is 18 years old. If a tour involves a stop at a licensed venue any clients under the age of 18 years will be supplied a non-alcoholic drink as no alcohol can be served to them by law.

 

Melbourne Ambassadors consider an adult to be 16 years or older; a child is between 4 years and 16 years old; and an infant is less than 4 years old.

 

CANCELLATION

If you need to cancel a tour please advise Melbourne Ambassadors immediately and directly by telephone or email.

 

Unfortunately these cancellation fees apply regardless of the circumstances or reasons for the cancellation. Travel insurance is always advisable.

 

Up until 72 hours before the tour departure 50% of the full fee.

Between 72 hours and 48 hours before the tour departure 100% of the full fee.

 

If Melbourne Ambassadors is forced to cancel a tour,  then we will make a full refund of what has been paid within 7 days.

 

PUBLIC LIABILITY

Melbourne Ambassadors tours are covered by Public Liability Insurance in relation to our guided tour activities. To the extent permitted by law, Melbourne Ambassadors disclaims liability for loss or damage sustained by any customer or third party, whether to person or property, arising out of Melbourne Ambassadors tours of Melbourne and Victoria.

 

PRIVACY

Any information maintained by Melbourne Ambassadors, for example email correspondence or booking forms, is gathered and used solely for the conduct of our tours and will be kept securely and is not divulged, shared or sold to a third party.

 

CODES OF PRACTICE

As members of the Professional Tour Guides Association of Australia, Melbourne Ambassadors’ guides abide by the Australian Tour Guides Code of Conduct. Found ‘here’ on the PTGAA website.

 

DISCLAIMER

The customer acknowledges that Melbourne Ambassadors will provide its tours and services only on the basis of the prior acceptance of the Terms & Conditions as signified by the customers’ participation in the tour and activities.

 

The customer acknowledges that there are risks in undertaking Melbourne Ambassadors’ tours and activities. It is the customer’s responsibility to inform Melbourne Ambassadors of any health issues or concerns that may occur or impact on any other customers while engaged on those tours and activities.

 

We reserve the right to amend prices and change the tour or portion of the tour, due to bad weather or other conditions, and we will offer an alternative if possible.

 

Melbourne Ambassadors is not responsible for personal belongings lost, stolen or damaged during any tour.
